SMSGO obtains your consent to send you text messages directly, through a two-step opt-in process initiated by SMSGO. We do not rely on consent collected on our behalf by a third party.

You opt in to receive messages from a specific group via SMSGO in one of two ways: (1) by visiting that group's public sign-up page at smsgo.org/join/[group-alias], entering your own phone number, reading the disclosure, and clicking Join; or (2) by texting JOIN [group-alias] to (240) 786-1112 from your own phone. In both paths the action is taken by you from your own device, and consent is collected and recorded by SMSGO at the moment of that action.

Once you opt in, you may receive event invitations, RSVP confirmations, game status updates, reminders, polls, and similar event-coordination messages from SMSGO on behalf of the group you've joined. Message frequency varies based on your group's event schedule. Standard message and data rates may apply.

You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message, which will immediately suppress all further messages from SMSGO to your number. Reply HELP for help. Consent to receive messages is not required as a condition of participating in any events or groups.

SMSGO maintains a record of your consent including the date and time of your opt-in reply, the unique message identifier of that reply, and the originating phone number, to satisfy carrier and regulatory requirements.

If you change or deactivate your mobile number, please notify your group organizer or contact us at [email protected] so we can update or remove your contact information. You will not be held liable for any failure to opt out before changing your number.

Your use of SMSGO is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.
