A POLL IN A MINUTE

Write it, pick who gets it, send.

Start from a quick template or write your own question. SMSGO shows exactly what members will receive and what it costs before anything goes out.

1

Ask the question

Up to 200 characters, with an optional date, location and details. Quick starts: What time? What date? Where? Yes / No.

2

Add 2 to 6 options

Each gets a letter. Let people pick just one, or turn on multiple picks so they can reply A,C.

3

Choose who gets it

Everyone, or only the groups that should weigh in, like Parents, Board or Captains.

4

Preview and send

See the text preview, segment count and cost. Send now or pick the time it goes out.

LIVE RESULTS

See the answer forming, and who’s behind it.

Your poll page shows each option’s count with the names of the people who picked it. Votes by text and email land in the same tally.

  • Changed minds are fine. Anyone can reply again to change their vote.
  • Share the standings, or don’t. Turn on RESULTS and members can text it for live counts. Leave it off to keep results to yourself.
  • See who’s watching. A results log shows who texted RESULTS and when.
FOLLOW UP

A poll is the start of the conversation.

Because you know who picked what, the next message can go to exactly the right people.

WHAT A POLL COSTS

See the cost before it sends.

A poll is a message like any other: $0.03 per text segment and $0.003 per email. The preview shows the segment count, so you can trim a long question before it costs more.

A one-segment poll to 40 by text and 10 by email: $1.23 to send.
  • $0.03per text segment
  • $0.003per email
  • $0.03per texted vote
  • $0for votes by email
WHY BY TEXT

No link to chase. More answers.

Most poll tools mean making a link and then chasing people to click it. SMSGO asks where people already read their messages, and answering takes one letter.

  • No app, account or sign-in for anyone.
  • Private: votes come to you, not to a group chat.
  • Email members vote with a tap, in the same tally.
QUESTIONS

Poll questions.

How do members vote?

By text, they reply with a letter, like B. By email, they tap their choice. Both count in the same tally, and nobody needs an app, account or link to a form.

Can people choose more than one option?

Yes. Turn on multiple picks when you create the poll, and people can reply with several letters, like A,C.

Can someone change their vote?

Yes. Texters reply again with a new letter. Email voters use the same email link to update their choice.

How many options can a poll have?

From 2 to 6, labeled A through F.

Can members see the results?

If you turn on live results, members can text RESULTS to get each option’s vote count and percentage. Leave it off to keep results to yourself.

Can I see who voted for what?

Yes. Your poll page lists each option with the names of the people who picked it, and you can message any of them directly.

Can I remind people who haven’t voted?

Yes. Select the people you want to remind and send a reminder. Leave the message blank and SMSGO resends the question with the options listed.

Can I send a poll to just part of my group?

Yes. Send it to everyone, or choose specific groups like Parents, Board or Captains. You can also send it now or schedule it.

Can I run more than one poll at once?

One poll is active at a time. Close it from your dashboard to start the next. For picking dates, times and places from many options, use Find a Time.

What does a poll cost?

The same as any message: $0.03 per text segment and $0.003 per email. Votes texted back are billed like texts at $0.03, and votes by email are free.
