Is SMSGO a replacement for Remind?

For many groups outside the classroom, yes. Remind is built for teachers, schools and districts. SMSGO is built for any organizer, like teams, clubs, churches, nonprofits and small businesses, who needs to reach people by text or email and coordinate events, polls and schedules.

Is Remind free?

Remind’s help center says Remind Chat is free to send and receive messages, with classes of up to 150 participants. Remind Hub plans for schools and districts are listed on Remind’s site without published prices.

What does SMSGO cost?

Pay as you go, with no subscription: $0.03 per text segment, $0.003 per email and $0.04 per photo text. Replies texted back are billed like texts. You start with $5, about 166 standard text segments, and a month with no messaging activity costs $0.

Does SMSGO translate messages?

No. SMSGO sends messages as you write them. If translation for families is essential, Remind offers automatic translation into more than 90 languages.

Do my members need an app?

No. SMSGO members get a normal text or email and reply the same way. They can join by texting JOIN and your code, scanning your QR code or using your Join page.

Can I move my group from Remind to SMSGO?

Yes. Send us your list in any format and we import it for free. Phone numbers you add get a free text asking them to confirm with YES. You can also share your Join page so people add themselves.

Can I use both?

Yes. Many organizers belong to more than one community. A teacher might use Remind for a class and SMSGO for a weekend league or a church group.
