Absolutely. The first $5 gets you started. After that, top up with any amount from $5 to $500 whenever you want.

What exactly is a text segment?
A normal short text is one segment. Longer texts, or texts with emoji, can use more than one. SMSGO shows the segment count and cost before you send, so you are never guessing.
Do replies cost anything?
Yes, and we would rather say so up front: texts members send back to SMSGO are billed like outbound texts, at $0.03 per text segment. You see every one in Billing & Usage.
Do you charge for the number of contacts I store?
No. There are no per-contact fees, and no plan tiers by list size. That is one of the core ideas behind SMSGO pricing.
Can members chip in?
Yes. Members text PAY and get a secure contribution link. Their payment becomes wallet credit for the group.
Can I see exactly what SMSGO is costing me?
Yes. Billing & Usage shows spending, average cost, balance, contributions, and a message-type breakdown, filterable by time period down to individual transactions.
Can the contribution page use the group’s branding?
Yes. Your name, logo, banner image, colors, and description make the page feel like your group, not a generic payment page.
Do co-admins or helpers cost extra?
No. There is no extra fee for helpers. Texts they send come from your wallet at the usual $0.03 per text segment. If a co-admin signs in by text, each 6-digit code is $0.03. See co-admins and coordinators.
Can my group have its own phone number?
Yes, if you want one. $1.50 a month from your wallet for a local number in the area code you pick, and members just text JOIN to join. We set it up with you. Most groups use SMSGO’s shared number at no extra cost. See your own number.
Can I email poll results to people?
Yes. From a poll’s results page, send a clean summary of the results and comments to any email addresses, like leaders or staff, for $0.003 per email. You see the cost first. See poll reports.
Am I charged when a text can’t be delivered?
If the person had texted STOP, the carrier refuses it and SMSGO refunds the charge automatically. Other failures, like a disconnected number, are still billed by the carrier, so SMSGO flags those people for you to check. A text only counts as delivered when the carrier confirms it.
